Food 10/10 Service 12/10 Ambiance 10/10 I would give Porzana a 10 stars if I could! Coming from LA I have particular standards about food but Porzana really went above and beyond in every category! Everything I ordered here tasted phenomenal. Here's everything I tried and their review: Fresh oysters (5/5) - amazing. Especially the dry grated horseradish. Dressed oysters (3/5) - the sea bean and chili vinegar was a miss for me. Caviar Bunuelo (4/5) - great first bite! Wouldn't get again but worth trying once! Cured Salmon (5/5) - like salmon aguachile! Every bite was so fresh and amazing. Would get again. Spicy Scallop Tartare (5/5) - a tad salty but delicious wrapped in shiso leaves. Would get again! Bluefin tuna crudo (4/5) - everything was great except the saltiness! I would tone it down by 40%. Pa Amb Tomaquet (3/5) - loved the flavor and texture combo. A work of art! But again, would tone down the saltiness by 80%! It was as salty as saltwater. Entraña steak (5/5) - one of the best steaks I've tried. The gorgonzola mornay was one of a kind! Bread pudding dessert (5/5) - again, perfectly executed! The bread pudding, ice cream, candied pecans, and citrusy topping was to die for! Must try! Loved the service here as everyone was so down to earth and friendly! Wish I could've come here again on my last day in Minneapolis (instead of going to owamni..). Would def want to fly back from CA just to come to Porzana again!!!
Yum! We got a quick reservation for Sunday brunch. Seated right away and had so many things we wanted to try. This place is definitely cute and low key for brunch, I think still building awareness to the fact they have brunch as it wasn't very busy. We ordered multiple items to try and nothing disappointed! I don't know all the fancy names but the scrambled egg with crab was amazing, the French toast melted in your mouth and the raviolo with egg yolk in the middle was delightful! Unique brunch items but all were fabulous. Highly recommend!
Visited Porzana on a Friday night with some girlfriends and it was the perfect vibe. We sat outside and the patio has great ambiance with the plants and string lights. Also parking was simple with the valet who also took cards as well as cash. We were told to get the chipas which were so good, I swear I could have ate the whole thing by myself. For my entree I got the cacio e pepe pasta and it didn't disappoint - I loved the bigoli noodles as they tasted fresh and perfectly cooked. We rounded out the dinner with the brioche bread pudding and holy smokes I'm still thinking about it. I didn't even really want dessert but after trying it I regret not getting a whole one for myself. Service was great - shout-out to our girl Hailey. Will definitely be back!
The outdoor seating is reminiscent of a European seating outdoor. It excude casual but with finer sense. It's not stuffy. The foods are delicious and has modern take. They have good selection wine and cocktails. A great place to meet up with friends or business get together. The service is excellent. Shout out Ashley for her excellent recommendations and attention to my table. We had marvelous dinner and time.
I can see why this restaurant is a fave in the area. We came here to celebrate a friend birthday and were so impressed with everything. The restaurant is so much larger inside than it looks outside. Love the open kitchen concept and could see the meals as they were being prepared. Our server was on point with all of his suggestions from the appetizers, main meals and drink suggestions. We decided to order a little bit of everything and share family style. Our server even brought complimentary bubbly to celebrate my friend's birthday. Everything we ate during our meal was absolutely delicious and so flavorful. We had a great dining experience. I highly recommend to anyone coming to the area. You will not be disappointed.
who doesn't love Porzana? Arguably the best restaurant opened in Minneapolis over the last 12+ months in the heart of the North Loop. Amazing atmosphere and vibe, as well as cocktails/mixology and service. The food is terrific - while it fashions itself as an Argentinian steakhouse with a lot of different cuts and options, as well as sauces, the pastas and other main options are equally as good, if not better, as well as the sides, e.g. the potatoes! A little pricey but well worth it, in my opinion, and every time I've had dinner here, I often wonder why I don't eat here more frequently. It's a little noisy but that comes with a popular place, walk-ins available at the bar, which has ample seating. They have valet parking but there are a lot of metered spots on 1st or 2nd, but during the weekend, very tough to grab a prime spot, otherwise very walkable for those in NoLo. Don't forget to head downstairs for a post-dinner drink or next door for some jazz!
Sometimes trendy restaurants are overhyped but definitely not this one. The ambiance and decor is super chic and inviting. All the waiters are so helpful and easily walk you through the menu with recommendations and pairings. And the food I'm still dreaming of. Food: there was not a single thing that we had that we did not like. Biggest problem was choosing what to pick because you want to try everything. The sides are unique and flavorful, our favorites were the carrots. The Caesar salad with the fried oysters was so unique and a meal within itself. I think what was the star dish was the homemade pasta. Highly recommend the sweet corn agnolotto
Im going to gush about the brunch Smoked Fish Plate. It's totally underrated but one of my favorite brunch items. A perfectly toasted bagel, cream cheese topped with some olive oil, capers, smoked salmon and a ton of greens. Definitely an item not to miss! Start with the Berlinesa and pair the plate with the Papas Aplastadas and you'll go home fat and happy!!!!
We returned to Porzana, but this time were compelled to dine at a table due to a full bar. With regret, we were led to a four top with a good view of the dining room. I was surprised to see a decidedly unfashionable room. Porzana is not attracting the hipsters from the North Loop, at least not on a Saturday night. Our regret at not finding a seat at the bar was wiped away by our server Nick. Some people are born with the ability to charm. Nick was amazing, understanding what we wanted, and he became a confidant while guiding us through our meal. With Nick's guidance we both ordered the Strip Steak aged in Gorgonzola. The steak was incredible and even my spouse, not a steak eater, was sighing with pleasure. Our sides of peas and whipped potatoes were sublime. Porzana's wine list is eclectic and interesting, but my cocktail was not Midwest strong. However, the gestalt of our dinner was fantastic. While the food tasted wonderful, Nick's personality turned our dinner into a cherished memory. To hell with sitting at the bar.
